Who are Bectu and what do we do?
Bectu is the union for creative ambition. We represent over 40,000 staff, contract and freelance workers in the media and entertainment industries.
Who we represent
Production and independent broadcasting
We represent workers in television and film, in London and across the country. Our members work in roles such as producers, directors, editors, camera operators, riggers and runners, and in departments such as costume, hair and make-up, art department, locations and props.
Arts and entertainment
We represent workers in cinemas, art galleries, live events and theatres. Our members work in a range of roles including front of house staff, lighting and sound technicians, production staff and in a range of departments including hair and make-up and costume.
BBC
Bectu is the largest union at the BBC, representing members across BBC, BBC Studioworks Limited, BBC Worldwide and BBC Contractors. If you don’t work in front of the camera as a presenter or are a journalist at the BBC, then we’re the union for you.
