Prospect members elect new National Executive Committee

Prospect members have elected a new national executive committee (NEC) and presidential team.

The new NEC’s term will begin at the close of the union’s 2024 National Conference on Tuesday 11 June, and last for two years.

The union’s presidential team was elected unopposed.

Ele Wade is re-elected as president. Ele works for the Intellectual Property Office as a senior patent examiner. She was first elected to the NEC in 2014.

The vice-president will be Neil Hope-Collins, who is also re-elected. Neil works for the Health and Safety Executive and was first elected to the NEC in 2008.

The deputy vice-president will be Alice Black. Alice Black is a freelancer in Scottish Live Events branch. She joined the NEC in 2023.

The result was communicated to branch, section and sub-section secretaries via a national circular.

Update

Toby James has decided not to take up his position on the NEC for 2024-26, therefore he will step down from the NEC at the end of the 2022-24 term.

This means Phil Cartwright will take up this position, as the unsuccessful candidate who received the most votes.
