Intimacy Coordinators Hub
Welcome to the Bectu Intimacy Coordinators Hub. Here you will find links to our guidance on shooting intimacy, information about the Bectu IC Registry, and links to articles.
The Bectu Intimacy Coordinators branch are committed to promoting best practice in the UK screen industries. Established in 2020, the branch was created to bring all ICs working in the UK under one roof. They work to provide guidance and information to the growing IC community in the UK, and to the wider screen industries.
Guidance for Shooting Intimacy
In 2022, we released the Bectu Guidance for Shooting Intimacy. This guide was the result of two years of work by the branch to provide comprehensive information about the role of an IC, their collaboration with other crew, terminology, and essential information for productions with intimate content.

Bectu Intimacy Coordinators Registry
The Intimacy Coordinator Registry provides a list of Intimacy Coordinators (ICs) working in the screen industry in the UK and Ireland who have a certain level of professional experience and approved role-related skills and competencies, as detailed in this document. This is designed to promote high safety standards and competence that can be relied upon by the industry.
The Registry is intended for use by productions seeking an intimacy coordinator. Productions should still go through appropriate hiring processes to ensure they engage an IC with the right skills and experience for their project. ICs who aren’t yet included on the Registry may be in a process of training or accumulating their pre-requisite days on set. Productions should speak to them about where they are in their IC journey at the point of hiring and use the terms of the Registry as a framework for these discussions.
