BBC 2023 Pay Award & Pay Progression ballot result
At the close of the ballot on BBC pay and pay progression 2023, 88% of members voted to accept the offer whilst 12% rejected it. The BBC confirmed that pay increases and pay progression will take affect from August 1st 2023.
Overview of the pay award for 2023
- Finalising the outstanding pay progression movement to 33% of the 2022 JPRs owed from the 2022 agreement
- Minimum increase of 5% to employees (usual caveats for promotees/new starters after 1 April etc apply)
- Underpin increase of £1,750
- 5% increase to Night Payments, Bank Holiday Payments (Christmas Day and Boxing Day) and London Weighting
- Automatic move to 33% of the job pay range for those in role for 2 years as of 1 August. 2023
- Automatic move 1% for members in 33% – 50% of their job pay range
- All job pay ranges minima and maxima increase by at least 1%
- Arrangements in place for outliers going forward.
- Overall investment in pay bill of 6.6%
