A Licence to More: BBC Campaign
The BBC is much more than a licence fee – it’s the bedrock of British culture. Whether you’re watching sports and drama, getting the latest news or listening to music, nearly all of us use the BBC weekly.
The BBC’s unique funding model allows it to be a truly public service broadcaster. It commissions innovative content, promotes British talent and invests in jobs across the country contributing 5bn to the UK economy. The Government’s threat to scrap the licence fee puts this contribution and jobs at risk.
We started the Licence To More campaign to:
- Highlight the importance of the BBC in everyday lives
- Encourage the public to recognise the value of the BBC
- Secure support from our current and future governments for the BBC
- Influence future decisions about different funding models
- Safe-guard the future of BBC jobs for our members
- Grow the union within the BBC.
