Scottish government agrees new policy on Fair work with the STUC

The Scottish government has agreed a new policy on Fair work with the STUC. The guidance is designed to encourage and support employers to adopt fair work practices within their organisation.

Bectu helped to produce the STUC’s  the guidance which is intended for those involved in awarding public sector grants, other funding and public contracts as well as those who receive funding through public sector grants, sponsorship arrangements with the Scottish Government and/or are involved in the delivery of contracts.

The news of the policy is welcome as Bectu have been lobbying the Scottish government to beef up its fair work agenda in the cultural areas.  The policy will help with Bectu’s drive to improve fair work policies for members. We have approached various funding bodies to ensure the guidance is proactively pursued by them.
