Health and Safety online training

This online course will introduce reps to the role, functions and unique legal powers of the health and safety rep and equip them with the information necessary to operate effectively in the workplace.

The effective health and safety representative

This course will examine:

• The health and safety legal framework
• The role of the rep and employers’ duty to consult them
• Organising and getting results.

No prior rep training is needed. Applications should be endorsed by your branch and full-time officer.

The course will take approximately 12 hours work in total, including four scheduled two hour online sessions, and core activities to be completed between sessions.

When applying, please ensure you can commit to all four live sessions of your chosen course.

Places are strictly limited to five participants.

September/October 2020:

• 2pm-4pm on Monday 28 Sept, Thursday 1 Oct, Monday 5 Oct and Thursday 8 Oct.

November 2020:

• 2pm-4pm on Monday 9 Nov, Thursday 12 Nov, Monday 16 Nov and Thursday 19 Nov.

Health and safety representatives are entitled to time off with pay to undergo training.
